Introducing the UEM Submarine

The Green machine is also called the UEM (Ultimate Exercise Machine). It is a dry, one atmosphere personal submarine capable of diving to 250 feet with a two to one safety factor.

The construction of the steel pressure hull is similar to the VAST Mk III submarine hull modified for human propulsion by means of bicycle pedals driving a three foot diameter propeller. The prototype VAST Mk III was certified by the Ameriean Bureau of Shipping.   When the pilot of UEM gets tired, he can surface and install the telescoping mast for sailing. The telescoping mast and boom fit in holders either side of the conning tower. The sail is a Marconi catboat rig.

The UEM is environmentally pure and is physically demanding. It is the ultimate exercise machine. Diving is accomplished by venting the fore and aft ballast tanks. Depth control is maintained through dive planes on either side of the hull.   Surfacing is accomplished in a matter of seconds by high pressure air from Seuba tanks blowing into the ballast tanks. An emergency drop lead weight is carried under the pressure hul1 as backup for the Scuba tanks.

A DVD (without hype) of the original UEM propulsion and diving trial is available for $10. The cost of mailing the DVD within the United States is included in the price.

If you are allergic to exercise, we have three electric powered submarine designs that can be operated at no cost because of our wind operated generator. The designs are our K-250, K-350 and K-600 submarines. The numerical designation refers to the safe operating depth. All plans have been based on Classification by either ABS, Lloyd's or NK. Cost of the plans is based on $1 per ft of depth. The wind generator plans are free with the purchase of submarine plans; however, if you want to buy the plans for the wind generator onIy, the cost is $50 and it includes a material list.
