Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Your Homebuilt Submarine in our Video?
Pat,
Actually, it was easier than using Minn Kota's existing controller and much
cheaper as well as better performance. The potentiometer I use doesn't handle
much power (less than 144 milliwatts) since it controls the duty cycle of the
power switch operating at 20 kHz. The electronics are contained in a pressure
compensated, dry air space.
On the video, can you handle mini DV video?
Best wishes,
Ken Martindale

(RE: MOTOR) In the NAUTILUS MINISUB VIDEO, we'll touch on basically
everything from design to dive tests. There really wasn't anything exotic
about the E-motor part of it, though. I would imagine yours was quite a bit
more difficult, since it's in a wetsub and all. For example, I know you're
running a Minn Kota lower unit; I'm wondering what kind of potentiometer
you've got, and how you keep your vital electrics dry in a wet environment.
