This is something I forgot to include in my other post, about philsophical/political trends I've noted in P-Subbers. A general, overarching sense of the importance of being competent, knowledgable, and fully responsible for oneself -- in control of one's own destiny as it were.

These may seem like obvious, common-sense identifications -- somebody who shoots at unidentified shadows gets what he deserves, don't come whining to me when you're dying of a lifetime of neglecting yourself, I don't need Government regulations to protect me from myself, etc -- but I honestly think such views are shrinking into a minority. We're living in a great Age of Irresponsibility. I wonder if this could be a parallel to "child culture"?
