Thanks for the insight,

I was given to understand that trolling motors won't stand up to 
pressure, even at 2 or 3 atmospheres. Or is there a way to gear them? I 
read about a ceramic pump shaft that has been used with some success.
Maybe a set of plans is just what the doctor ordered. Do you have an 
e-mail address for Vance?
Ultimately, I'm looking for a machine that is safe, small and won't cost 
me a fortune. I have the time to build and depth is'nt much of a problem, 
here in Manitoba It's very hard to find a lake deeper than 200 feet. 
(there are a few meteor crater lakes and that's where all the divers go 
anyway so I though that would be the best place!)
I'll check out the photos you mentioned!
