[PSUBS-MAILIST] Submarine Escape

Greetings all: This December issue of the U.S. Naval Institute PROCEEDINGS has an excellent article on submarine escape and survival. On page 77 the article: "New Sub Equipment & Training Will Save Lives" written by Captain Bruce A. Cohen, Medical Corps, U.S. Navy is as good as it gets. The author is Director of Medical Accessions at the Naval Education and Training Command. Cohen was formerly the senior medical officer for Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. During the May 2002 NATO submarine escape and rescue exercise SORBET ROYAL held off the coast of Denmark, Cohen made an escape from a Swedish submarine using the new US Navy SEIE suit. They were in the Baltic at 115 feet. A really great article from the ultimate source- regards, Mark
