   Yah, it's actually devoted to ussubs.com.  I actually live near their 
office.  Perry subs is also nearby.  Both have been around for many years 
and to this date not a single financier has come forward to undertake any of 
these projects.  I hob-knob with a lot of these "rich folk" since I'm a 
yacht captain, and I'll tell you this... although many of them are quite 
philanthropic they usually by no means are adventurous enough to spend that 
kind of money on a private yacht-submarine.  Those that do simply attach 
minisubs to their megayachts, which is actually becoming all the craze 
nowadays and is really where the money is at for manufacturers (of course no 
comparison to a self-sustaining submarine - the main reasons for getting 
them are usually to show off and occassionally ponder a reef while sipping a 
Cosmopolitan in the air-conditioning).   You need guys like Richard Branson 
to do something like this, rich men who arent afraid of the deep and 
enclosed spaces.  Trust me, they are few and far between.   Now, if I had 
the money?!?!  I'd build a submersible superyacht quicker then you could say 
Jacques Cousteau.
