Yes you are right, the freeboard is very low abiout 20 cm (8 inch). 
Only for lake dives. 
For that reason there is a breathing snorckel in the hatch. 
But you can squezze your body half in and half out - as Emile did at the
end of the video. The hatch-hole is than more or less complete filled
with the body - and the boat more or less tight.. ;-)
