Re: "where flowing away from" - all the pressure induced load of, for
example,  a conical section polycarbonate circular port is transferred to
the seat or contact point. If the minor diameter is much,much, less than
the pressure exposedmajor diameter, and the port has sufficient thickness,
then it will function - but is likely to extrude a 'plug' to the cabin side
of the port under sustained loading. If the conical angle is modest - such
as that typically used in acrylics, then you may well find your port on
your lap- followed a nanosecond later by a large amount of the stuff in
which you are immersed! Or, as a famous author observed " Ask not where the
port flows - it flows towards you" ( or similar).
