Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Pressure Compensation of Electronics

The electronics may or may not survive depending on your equipment. Most CCD cameras will survive, the board may survive (I don't know about that specific board) BUT I wouldn't bet on it. Most off the shelf uncompensated small ICs will crush at about 2atm in my experience, Especially reed switches and some capacitors.

This is all been found out by the many failures of BugEye I (Yeah, that project just did wonders didn't it. But hey, failure breeds knowledge)

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Pressure Compensation of Electronics

Now a question for the electronics people.  If an electronics box containing a PC104 single board computer module and video cameras is pressure compensated with air to 950 psi, will the electronics survive?  Can you provide any real world examples?

Thanks
