If CO2 is used to compensate your battery box it will prevent the possiblity of an explosion due to hydrogen gas buildup. CO2 will give you roughtly twice the cubic foot of gas for the same size of bottle. CO2 will put out a fire, and you can setup a wet bar on the aft deck.
