Patrick,
The MBT's are the main ballast tanks.
Tumblehome is sort of the opposite of an outward flaring deck. It is a
deck that is narrower than the boat itself is at the waterline. So if you
are looking at the boat bow-on, the hull curves in from the waterline to
the deck.
