[PSUBS-MAILIST] Phil Nuytten Has the Underwater Flight Bug

"October 20, 2007 - Vancouver, British Columbia
Sub Aviator Systems, LLC is pleased to announce its strategic alliance with Nuytco Research, Ltd. of Vancouver, BC (www.nuytco.com) and is honored to welcome Dr. Phil Nuytten, OBC, L.L.D. as a partner and member of its Board of Directors."

"Using DeepWorker hulls has the additional advantage of allowing for a more comfortable, “business class” cockpit for each pilot.  ORCASUB will also benefit by incorporating Nuytco’s aluminum battery cylinders thereby allowing for a variety of battery types to be employed, which are easily hot-swappable in the field.  Even though ORCASUB will carry a dedicated emergency weight-drop system, as an additional safety feature, the battery pods can also be jettisoned as ballast in an emergency."

"ORCASUBs will be classed and certified by Lloyd’s Register of Shipping with an operating depth of 2000 feet.  This is made possible by utilizing Nuytco’s patented, welded steel, pilot hulls which are larger, stronger and more buoyant than Aviator’s sand cast, aluminum hulls.
At this time SAS is accepting deposits to commence building for up to three ORCASUBS starting in 2008, at a price of $2,190,000 US each. "
