DIESELS For the First Stealth Weapon - Submarine Power 1902-1945 by 
Lyle Cummins is title of a book I recently got from Timberland Regional 
Library of WA State. It has a 2007 publication date and an ISBN of 
978-0-917308-06-2 .

This book starts with early submarines of the 19th century startig with 
a drawing of Wilhelm Bauer's 1850 Brandtaucher and including the Hunley 
and Plongeur as well as the Nordenfeldt steam subs. Then all the 
diesels used on submarines.
I'm not much for diesel knowledge other than VW Rabbits LOL but the 
depth of detail here looks very comprehensive.

Likely this book is available on InterLibrary Loan.
