I little bit off the subject, and I know this has been discussed, but when bringing fluid in and out of the sub, what is the best way. A threaded stainless welded in piece, that is a larger diameter piece of stainless, like you would a valve fitting, or a simpler nipple.  It seems like the nipple would not give you much to weld to, because of the thickness of the nipple.

You're right about the thru-hull plate on the DW. As has been discussed many times, it's really the best option to cluster the hull pens into a replaceable disk so changes can be made without cutting/welding.
