Hi Greg, I think it will easier. 

We simulate that and flooded the sub with a top vent valve open until just the domes are filled wit air. 
Much softer way to get out - but in shallow water it takes much longer. 

Here was not the problem that so much air et out - but that so much water gets in! 
And you seating in the way..
