Re: Re: design team

When I first joined PSUBS I knew next to nothing about building psubs. I
read all the technical papers, then I read through all the archives. Then I
emailed a couple people with questions I had. Now I feel I know something.
But still not much. It was a lot of work to gather just a few facts.

What would have, and could still, help(ed) me understand the concepts of
building PSUBS would be more technical papers. I suggest we define certain
areas of PSUB construction, then write technical papers on the topics. We
could all work on the tech papers. I don't know much about PSUB
construction but I have thought about building a rather simple CO2 absorber
and trying to get a feel for how long it will last. When I'm done I can
write a paper on it. Also some people have had questions about relaying
video signals to the surface via a cable, I can work on that also. Some
areas could be soft/hard Trim Tanks, pressure compensated thrusters, bracing,
hull calculations, viewports, navigation, sonar, batteries, transportation,
registration, surface support, dive planes, releasable ballast, explosive
bolts, dead horsies, forks, fur-lined bikinis. Oh whoops, we need to leave
the fur-lined bikinis out.
