Refraction etc. I removed the fwd "bumper bar" assembly from my K-250 during my rebuild (original configuration photo attached). I never liked it as the original design seemed to place it directly in front of the main fwd view port. I would really like to keep this area clear to ensure the best viewing potential. To me the main function was to protect the view port and I do believe something is required. I am considering a piece of acrylic, basically the same OD as the view port mounted on standoffs just in front of the main view port. Maybe 3/8" thick and stood off approx. 1/2" from the view port. I've seen other types of protective view port covers become pretty much invisible once submerged. Does anyone have any opinions if this arrangement would create any visually problems?
