[PSUBS-MAILIST] dive plane

Hank,

This does make sense, control surfaces must have water flowing over them (or
attached thrusters) to do anything. Thrusters alone would work unless you
are gliding the sub up or down, then dive planes would do the trick. Would
you upload a photo or two so that we can see how they are installed?

Tim

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] dive plane

Big dive day today revealed that the dive plane on Gamma is not very
effective. It takes a lot of speed to work, makes sense. I am thinking a
thruster at the end of the dive plane might be beneficial. I am planning a
dive next weekend to look at the Anscomb ferry that sank in Kootenay lake.
The bottom of the ship is about 200 feet or a bit less maybe.
Onward and downward.
Hank
