[PSUBS-MAILIST] Batteries

Scott,
already sold my house & living in a cardboard box. (well small unit)
But where could you buy an education or experience like we are getting?
I had a look at a video on the CDK-6 conversion kit. It says you
have to unscrew the fitting from the SSB 2010 unit to turn off the power!
Normally for a diver the power comes on automatically when the unit is underwater.
Did you put a switch on this or were you still screwing-unscrewing to
turn the power on & off. Or did you wire the unit to your submarine battery supply.
Also when mounting the transducer where is the best position?
If you mount it low you would have communication through it on the surface,
or is this distorted in wavy conditions.
If you mount it high you would have less interference. Yes?
Cheers Alan

Thank you for the in Alan. I am quickly finding that nothing in deep sea vehicles is cheap. haha. Thrusters for $68,000. Tracking system for $53,000. Pressure testing for $26,000. Comms for $29,000. So yup, I'm selling my house and gonna live in a cardboard box, but at least I'll have fun doing it. haha

Thank you,
Scott Waters
