Brian,I think you will have a very smooth and reliable motor there.  I can see why they are tough to machine.  I found the trick is to use your 4 jaw chuck and weld tabs to the pod heads for the chuck to grab.  Then grind the tabs off after your done.Hank

 Hi Everybody,                            I finished my Port side motor pod.  Did a pressure test up to 10psi ,  still waiting on the silicone oil .  But it ran really smooth, had a bit of trouble when I machined the end caps, they weren't totally perfect, think I'll have the machine shop make a stab at it .  There were difficult to line up in my lathe and they were literally at the very maximum size my lathe could do.  But all my snap rings and o rings and epoxy thru hulls are good to go ! Pics:_______________________________________________
