Rick,
I don't think it will matter if it's either, because if the 1st stage is producing
round about 135psi above ambient, at your max dive depth of 350ft you
will have 135 + 175 = 310psi coming out of the Ist stage & entering your hull. 
So a wild variation of pressure which will make any subtleties in regulator 
type obsolete.
