[PSUBS-MAILIST] Sodium Chlorate Candles?

Has anyone here ever tried to cook a sodium chlorate candle for emergency
oxygen generation? It seems that having a shelf stable, non pressurized
oxygen source would be useful in a standard K250 or 350 that might not have
an oxygen tank. What are the downsides of this approach?
