Carsten is the boss, he did 50 mm thickness (from both sides.) from the Euronaut’s HT cover.

 

James, get a slow turning/geared drill. Oftenremove chips. Shite jobbut often better than the torch.

Thanks guys, I actually went on You Tube and found a guy that cut 6 holes 50mm dia through  25 mm  steel, amazing!

ok!  I probably did it wrong.  I was cutting through plaster\metal
floor tiles at work with just a cordless drill.
