Hi Juergen,
I am not sure what's in a transducer. I believe the modern ones
are potted. 
I have made enquiries about forward facing transducers locally in Auckland,
where they do development work & testing on them. The enquiry was
forwarded to the European transducer manufacturer who gave away nothing 
& said test at your own risk.
