Hi Jon,

No, you don't need to use rigid pipe, hose is fine. It's just that the hose
should not be connected to the 1st stage HP port if you want flow. Do some
searches on "SCUBA whip" and you'll find flexible hose that connects
straight to a tank and is suitable for flow.
