I lucked out on eBay and bought a box of medical pole clamps for next to nothing. They are originally designed to attach instruments like IV pumps to those poles with wheels on the bottom. A little machining on the front, replace the knob bolt with a stainless hex head, and they clamp really well, great for holding almost anything.
