Rick,I've heard that the seals in the Minn Kottas are good for 30 - 100ft. So regardless of the compensation, it shouldn't have leaked past the 2 shaft seals.Perhaps one of the large o-rings that seal the motor sections together was pinched when it was put together. I wonder if the water was coming in to the hull through the motor wiring shaft. All the best.Alan

Rick,if it's just the thruster & not the electronics you could open her up, rinse well with fresh water, dry & re-assemble. You will probably have corrosion in the wiring caused by wicking ( wire hot after operation sucks in water as it cools). You can replace the wiring but will probably get away with it seeing the wiring should be reasonably thick.Did you not have air compensation?Regards Alan
