If I am reading this schematic correctly, those are solenoid controlled
flood ports and vents for the soft ballast system.
As you may know, I am contemplating an open bottom ambient design enclosed
within the hull but, this gives me a headache with controlling a large free
surface area when running on the surface. It may make sense for me to enclose
these spaces albeit at the expense of more material to submerge but, the loss
of the free surfaces would just have to make for better surfaced sea
keeping.
I would like to ask you about what off the shelf components
could I use to build solenoid controlled "flood ports" so that I
could enclose my soft tanks and have them completely dry on the surface? That
way my water ballast would not have any free surface. I would still use
manually controlled and piped vents.

see the pic on my frapper
for the ballast system for my design will include the bill of materials
in the next couple of days.
Full redundant using a
pressure comped hard ballast tank to save wieght,and split fore and aft soft
tanks.
