I have a work in progress that I have added to my webpage, seanstevenson.ca. The file is quite large, at around 5 MB or so - I'm not sure how it got so big considering that the geometry really isn't all that complex, but there you go. If you do decide to have a look, just be patient. The design came about because I started to consider how large a vessel would have to be in order to achieve everything I wanted to accomplish. This boat is large enough to live aboard, with accomodations for eight (2 person master cabin + 3 double bunk rooms), but only a three person minimum complement. It has a lockout chamber equipped with a double lock, so it serves not only as a lockout, but also as a fully functional hyperbaric treatment facility. This boat is a bit of a hybrid, in that its capabilities are in line with tourist submersibles (there is a foward viewing gallery with a spherical sector window which is selectively exposed by swinging part of the outer hull out of the way), but which incorporates military submarine styling as opposed to surface yacht or tourist submersible lines. The idea was to have a multi-task capable platform, and submerged speed was a design consideration. Anyway, it is only partially completed. I have yet to add galley and mess details, as well as the machinery spaces, but I thought I would submit it for comment. -Sean ************************************************************************ ************************************************************************ ************************************************************************ The personal submersibles mailing list complies with the US Federal CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.
