How bout this:
Build a 1atm sub referencing a proven design
(K-2/350)
Skin it with fiberglass to look like a Nautilus
That is what I'd be inclined to do were it my
project.
My current sketches on my project are looking more
like the result of a drunken evening encounter between the Nautilus and the USS Monitor
(Ironclad).
My reasoning is
that the Monitor's shape seems more practical for sub adaptation and it
satisfies my anachronistic/steampunk aesthetic target nicely. If you take a good
look at it, you can easily see a how one could, essentially, take a K-250-like
pressure hull and go from there. It fits right in.
