Lot's of relatively disposable components available at your local radio shack.Long before I developed an interest in PSUBS as a personal possibility, the 1986 image of Martin Bowen flying Jason Jr down the grand staircase on Titanic, has never left my mind. That left an impression.Hmmm.....Let's see now, how much of a stretch here? A fly out basket mounted on the front of say a...K-350, with a short breakaway tether wound on an even wind reel mechanism; mechanically linked to the same worm gear mechanism used for the claw. A watertight quick connect to the through hull, and a fold-down joystick controller / monitor for the second man position who just happens to be sitting in a nice semi-reclined comfy position, or a lone pilot.Oh my!Joe

You are correct, there is lots of usable info in this area.Have you seen this one? http://www.videoray.com/?referrer=adgoogleNot a homebuilt, more for commercial applications but, quite cute and nimble. It's a fine example of miniaturization of systems.Joe

Neat little semi-autonomous ROV. I thought it was worth sending because it includes a fair number of photos, parts list and wiring diagrams.
