RE: RV: [PSUBS-MAILIST] K-350 Basic Components

Hello Ray,

You are rigth, i am sorry but i think that with my bad english i couldn´t express what i wanted to say, i wasn´t refearing to the proccess of building a submarine i was trying to say that if a welding shop, factory, machine shop, or other that has the necessary machinery to build the sub hull is aviable in his locallity that would be enaugh for him because he has a plan, all calculation and test for that design has been made, all he need to do is find someone in the capacity of making it. Also James, i am bulding a K-350 myself, and i am very advanced in my project right now, if you need any help abut finding parts or something else just ask, also in this forum there is people that has already finished, try Dan H. too, he helped me many times when i had doubts. Best Regards

Hi,

A compressed tank is not the same as a submarine hull.
Just because a company can build one doesn't mean they
can build the other.

The physics of the two operating environments are
different.

I say this because a compressed air tank has a
relatively high internal pressure. The tank can be out
of round a bit and hold just fine. The metal used is
relatively thinner.

A submarine hull has to withstand higher outside
pressures. It has to be closer to round and reinfored
with ribs or it can deform.

Now if you have plans that include the reinforcing and
you are personally there during assembly to check out
of roundness, then perhaps an air compressor factory
could build what you want. Make sure you do x2
unmanned safety dives before trusting your life to it.

Actually do unmanned safety dives regardless of who
built the hull.

A possible use of an air compressor factory is
providing components. Which you get a PVHO certified
welder to put together.

Regards,
Ray
