[PSUBS-MAILIST] Venturi vs Kort Nozzle?

There was a recent discussion regarding the difficulty in amateur replication of the foil section within a Kort nozzle.

 

Since this discussion and the various options offered, I stumbled across what appears to be a simple venturi arrangement on the Pisces V submersible out of HURL. The implication here being a simplified and rather cost effective increased performance option for the homebuilder.

Does anyone know anything specific with regard to this arrangement (such as angles, inlet / outlet size, ratio...etc) vs a standard kort? How to calculate for a given application?
