Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] IR Cameras

I figured that would be the case.
What I am more curious about is the effectivity of IR light and cameras
underwater and in murky environments.

And what about thermal?

Depends on how well they're constructed, and how well you design the housing lense. Just like most any other camera.

You can seal almost any camera in a preasure can and be good to go. just remember the general rule of thumb that

Camera + Ambient = Bad

Anything you want to take down more than an extra atmosphere needs to be in a 1atm enclosure. Some dive camera enclosures might work off the shelf.

But the camera itself... yeah should work fine.

IR cameras are availible creaply and at the local hardware store now.
Does anyone know how useful they are underwater (if at all)?
I am totally ignorant on this one.

Thanks,
