As described previously, this is extensible (or removable) from a regular
sized trailer. On the road it is retracted (or in Carsten's case, carried
on the trailer).

Is that something you attach once you arrive at the dock and you're ready to
lower? I'm curious to know, because I'm wondering how much [if any] problems
that would give you as far as vehicle size, towing ranges, and laws.

Tried to send this image previously but it didn't make it through (this time
might be the charm). The dock ramp's rail is almost in line with the
extended hitch so have boxed the actually hitch in red for clarity.
