[PSUBS-MAILIST] Opinions About Design

I'll be working a little more on BugEye II this weekend, I have an optician friend who owns his own shop that's going to make a custom lense for the camera portal for me. this will "Complete" the main preasure can of the unit.

Now I was going to do a "typical" arrangement of a ballast on top, keelweight and wing thrusters... but..... I'm wondering if some sort of pontoon and drop weight config would be better.

I.E. I'm wondering if I should make pontoons that can be extended further out and up (at a 45 degree angle) from the preasure can by about half meter and a keelweight also on some sort of extender that could be lowered the same distance.

This way I could completley extend the pontoon style ballast and weight for greater stability when needed and retract them closest to the body (main preasure can) for greatest manueverability.

I'm just wondering if this configuration would actually give a easily noticable performance boost or if on something as small as BugEye II would be negligable.

Opinions? Comments? Smack upside the head cause I'm missing something obvious?
