Dan H's technique for launching Persistence. As far as I'm concerned Dan sets the standard both in construction and operation. Take a look at all the safety precautions like flags to mark the trailer underwater, wheel chocks, and a towing strap as backup to the trailer tongue. His team operates like a pit crew that has no need to rush. The hinged clamp on his trailer is a great way to secure the sub while staying dry. Persistence diving. I handed my camera to Mad Pirate Shin with a wide angle lens screwed on, and he got some good footage! The sounds have suffered a lot in YouTube compression but are still accurate enough to give you a pretty good feel for being there.

OK, now I'm getting silly. A disconnected microphone left me without audio, so I used text-to-speech software to dub the movie. Since it came out spooky, I added spooky music to make it extra spooky. There's actually very little to see in this one, but behind the mood manipulation the narration is completely factual. There was also a big lesson learned for me. The silicon sealant around the dome turned out not to have cured except on the surface. Inside it was completely liquid, and it extruded into the hull causing a leak at depth. Lesson learned... use Sikaflex 295, NOT silicon sealant for viewports.
If anyone else has videos to upload, it occurs to me it would be pretty cool to add a video links section to the website.
