All right! I think the DC contingent is committed to the
drive, because this year the Michigan fleet went to considerable expense to
drive down to us. I know Grag Cottrell and I would take our subs up for sure.
And you're also much nearer to Pierre, so maybe he'll join us too.
Damn, of all subs to run into I wouldn't pick Dan's!

something with my sub. We were at the pond 2 months ago ,my sub -Dan brewer's
sub and Russ Browns red sub. I went out with a diver and picked a
spot, went to the bottom and watched out the side port at the diver while
trimming the trim tank to come off the bottom. The diver motion that I was 2
feet off the bottom and to go forward, I hit the throttles and bang, I looked
out the front window , I hit Dan's sub. I came to the surface and went to
shore.
I looked for damage and found a curved dent in the
front main ballest tank -I had hit Dan's sub in the lower window retaining
ring.
Dan was moving along the bottom with a passenger
and did not see my sub either. No damage to Dan's sub. Russ Brown's sub
had a valve that was stuck ,so no diving his
sub that day. I did put a small window in my hatch and going to add more windows
to the sub this winter. I am building a bigger sub- my 6 tower windows are at
Gary's shop. Gary is putting his sub back together
with side thrusters and fore and aft ballest tanks.
will be ready for spring and he said will be user friendly. We have 8 subs in
Michigan and 1 is smaller than sergeant peppers and the only way to get in and
out is on a trailer,,so im told by Russ and im still waiting for a picture. I
traded some money and my BUS for a 28' 1966 Owens sea skiff with new motor in
it. It;s a 1 hour ride thru the river before hitting lake Mich.. I have to work
on the boat every weekend this winter to get it ready, Will be able to tow
some subs to lake mich. from a location by the convention next year. Gary
has a video from dan's sub, i will get him to add it to the rest . Got to
go---Les Katschor
