Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] That radio thing....

No Way, "GPS underwater."

Real Short:

CB = 27 mhz.
VHF = 150 Mhz
GPS = 1.8 Ghz.

Or: Let's put it this way......

A CB antenna is approx. 140" give or take.
A VHF antenna is 20" give or take (quarter wave)
A 1.8 Ghz. antenna is about 3"-6" / Dish - give or take.....

The higher the freq. the smaller the antenna, or lets say it's more "Pin
Point." That's why we use "Dishes" for those higher freq. It has to be
more point to point. The water would eliminate this.

Well, I remember the idea was once brought up on....Drag bouyes....But
then again, We brouht up the idea of 6' dia. Psubs....... I still like
the idea of a compass. Lets face it.......If we had money to "waste on
underwater GPS, wouldn't we have a Psub already?"

From"

2.  A guy that owns a Radio/Tower company
3. Who owns a welding shop
4.  Who is building a "K350-2 Man"
5. Who is SO TIRED OF SEEING MY MAIL BOX WITH FILLED WITH CRAP!!!

P.S. I'm so glad we are back on PSUB TOPIC!
