[PSUBS-MAILIST] underewater weather (was Joysticks)

Thanks Lew. I'll do some digging.

I hope this isn't off the subject for psubbing, but your thoughts
prompted a couple questions for the sub folks who have spent a lot time
at sea (underwater).

I know there are thermals, and currents in all sorts of directions, but
how volatile is it and how rare? Have you noticed any underwater
weather that changes drastically?

I don't have any direct experience with the problem or the calculations,
but if
you hunt around among the NOAA folks maybe somebody, or something in the
literature, will provide insights.

Wish I could help more.
