If i had a need for a new laptop
i would go with Dell 600m spend the extra $456.00 and get 
4Yr Ltd Warranty, At-Home Srvc + Nights and Weekend
Premier Warranty Support, 4 YR
CompleteCare Accidental Damage Svc to 4Yr Lim Warranty 
with it and not be afraid to take it any where.

So far, all I've heard about IBMs is that they are expensive.  I hear
good reports on everything other than Compaqs (the proprietary
software can be a problem, I'm told).

I'm looking at Dell Inspiron 600m, 700m, 2200 (two versions), and
6000.  More, if anyone's interested.
