Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Laptop choices (was: Suggestions are solicted.)

The 4 year plan is in my mind making your money in the back end
A notebook computer is a piece of equipment that is expected to have a 3-4 year life span
At about 2 years of good use most notebooks lose key?s or the internal mouse and the LCD fading /blue pixels/lines , internal charge circuit?s can fail ect. The accidental damage takes care of the oops I dumped a can of coke in the keyboard or I just left my notebook on the roof to the jeep and it fell off in the parking lot, or I did not see my laptop there when I set the Cisco 2800 down. So to be able to use a notebook like it was meant to be used the 450 bucks is cheep if you are anything like me you may use it a few times and end up with an almost new laptop near the end of the warranty.

As for upgrades I would go with a 1gig of Ram I would stay with the stock/low end wireless cards
Maybe XP pro
A Good case\bag

One of my choices in all configurations is the 4-yar warranty.
Why risk?

What options would you suggest? I'm increasing the RAM to
512K, adding wireless (if it's not there), and going with the
entire WP 12 Office instead of WP 12 alone.

A good expenditure.
