Like Alan said, the only modification is the mouthpiece. Works without
problems!.
Some tips: mount the regulator in the "normal"orientation and mount it in
about the same level or a little below the engines.

I use this system to compensate motor pods on
Explorer. I didn't modify the reg in any way except to
create an adapter that replaces the mouthpiece and
allows hose connections from the mouthpiece opening to
the fittings on the motor housing. The natural change
in pressure as you descend will act just like inhaling
off the reg... it'll press the diaphragm and pop the
valve open. Conversely, upon ascent the expanding air
in the system will bleed out through the one-way
exhale valve on the reg.
