RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Phil Nuytten Has the Underwater Flight Bug

It's true! Nuytco spent some considerable time and $ bringing the Hawkes
'Aviator' up to a more commercial standard so that 'Sub Aviator Systems'
can use it as a shallow (500') trainer for underwater flight - ultra-light
aircraft style! We also worked with SAS personnel to design an entirely new
version of 'Aviator' called 'Orcasub' - using all of the standard
'DeepWorker' class hardware in a 'fighter jet' configuration.
Looks awesome! Can send some pics if anyone's interested.
We are looking into the possibility of setting up a 'Sub-School' in
Curacao (Dutch Antilles) that would have the new 'Curasub' (a 5 place 1000
footer currently under construction) the 'Aquarius', a couple of
DeepWorkers, and possibly a refurbished clunker like our Pisces 2 or 8 or
10. Conditions there are unbelievable . . .we had 'Aquarius' down on a two
hundred and fifty foot long WW2 wreck sunk at a depth of 450 feet - when
the sub lights were turned off, you could see the whole length of the wreck
and about fifty feet beyond - by ambient light! That's clear water!
Vance Bradley and I were in Curacao last week, kicking the tires and
checking out the location for the new 'Sub-Station Curacao' admin buildings
and 'Orcasub' hangar. I'm sure Vance will keep the loyal psubbers up to
speed on whats going on there . . .
