Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Relius Paint

Hi Carsten.

Many thanks for the info on Relius paint. The shop i spoke to did not mention the Multicoat product, but i will ask him and see if he can get it for me. Im sure he will be able to as he is the UK agent for Relius.

I'll find out on Monday.

So Euronaut is going to be blue and not black? Interesting!

Kind regards
James

Subject: Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Relius Paint

Hi James, I am just 30 Minutes away from the Relius fabric
and tomorrow the supervisor of the company will have a
checkup view on my boat :-)

We use : Relius coatings:
01) Oldopox ZM green or grey (a zinc primer)and thinner
02) Oldopox Multicoat white (a epoxy) and thinner
03) Oldopox Multicoat grey
04) Relius 2K (two component) Acryl, white inside and blue outside

04) is only inside at visible space and outside as UV protection
04) is not inside of divetanks, there we go with just 1-3

We simplified the original paint sheme for the small areas reason.

Important is: sandblast the area and clean the the area with warm soap water.

If you go over the time the paint required for the next layer: Than:
sand the area by hand and clean with warm water again..

Some areas like the bow cones get filler job between 01 and 02)
there we use
I351-0070-2050 Olpopox 2K EP Grobspachtel (filler) grey and
I351-0170-2025 Olpopox 2K EP Feinspachtel (finefiller)grey

All 2K Epoxy zinc, coats and filler are really expensive - but the only real way to protect a saltwater submarine.

Important is to cover the epoxy paint which gets direct under
sunlight by a 2K acryl cover paint.
