Incidentally, it is this very lack of over regulation, that has me seriously reconsidering the sub project in favor of the Sopwith. (That and the lack of a suitable radial engine).

I worry about that from time time myself. But, I think the boating lobby, (Boat U.S, Power Squadron, various fishing concerns and others, would likely step up to the plate and squeal on your behalf because it would be too "close to home",... so to speak. Perhaps even A.O.P.A and EAA might chime in at that point, after all why stop at submarines.

I know in Oregon any boat in the water that is powered has to be registered or you get a ticket.

It could of been worse. Congress could of banned personal subs.

Looks like all personal subs will have to care state registration prior to launch.
