Hugh, This thing should be very affordable too! This transducer for solids lists under e-bay on underwater speakers and is 2.5lbs and only 4" in diameter and sells for about $19.00. It is a tan color and has but two crimp styled push on connectors on the back. It is fully encased in plastic but must be further strengthened to go down deeper. It has 8 oms of resistance just as a regular speaker (just what we were looking for) and is said to take a full 30 watts of power. The system so far produced uses just 7watts. I will send pictures of my progress on Friday night. At last we can converse with the dolphins who may listen to us, instead of our wives who rarely do! The understanding will probably be the same level, but our hope may be higher.
