RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] ABS Rules Update



There's alot of great info in there and we could easily just adopt them as our own.  The one thing I don't like is that they have a tendency to group multiple vessel types together which makes it tedious sometimes to get to the direct info you want.  For example, the surveying rules include floating dry docks, offshore racing yachts, boilers, etc.  But Chapter 1 is applicable to all.  I wish ABS would sort their document out into specific vehicles.  That would no doubt multiple documents would contain the same words and chapters (duplication) which could (but shouldn't if they had the right software) make it more difficult for them to edit when it comes time for updates, but certainly would make it easier for the target audience to home in on their specific vessel type without jumping in and out of two, three, or more separate documents.
 
What's better?  The docs as is, or grouping everything relevant to submersibles into one document?
