I saw a thing on TV yesterday about a new battery technology that was
interesting. Unfortunately I caught it in the middle and didn't get the name of
the company.
Anyway, it showed a tiny battery, the size of a postage stamp, that never
"loses" power. The speaker said the battery can be charged wirelessly from
many different sources, including vibration. The device is already in use in
tiny applications like remote sensors. The benefit as explained seemed to be
that the battery never wears out and electrical charge is stored without loss
for 20 years or more.
Battery technology is really moving fast right now. If I get a name or
anything new on this I'll pass it on.
