PVC Materials

Hi psubs, If Perry subs tested PVC and now don't use it or didn't use it, it may not have been a good material, "then". Going into the new century, maybe a very large diameter new PVC cylinder with an internal space for two people wouldn't be crazy at all. New extremely strong materials can be extruded and injection molded into huge sizes at "almost" cookie cutter speeds.

Idea #2. Also, why does everyone talk about thin internally braced metals? Since you then have to use over 1,000 pounds of lead ingot or shot ballast, why not a simple thick welded steel square box 90 degree angle construction that would go to any depths any personal sub builder would be qualified to go. Keep your variabe weight (batteries) on the bottom for a good stable CG. Then just use fiberglass sheet fairings and thick viewing ports to make your sub appear to be anything or design you wish.

Jon Schawl, has your sub builder friend Charles left the psubs list? Seems like the archives ar full of bad people like the infamous "The John" everyone is talking about. Tell Charles I need to have a cyber guy that is starting from scratch too. Jack
